Wenatchee Invite – 9/16/2023
Course Length – 1.55 miles
General Notes – The course features lots of rolling inclines with only one significant hill right at the finish. With the exception of some brief pavement crossings, the course runs on grass from start to finish. All middle school athletes completed one lap of the 2500m course. Athletes had lots of chances to be cheered on while running, particularly in the last mile of the race. The weather during the middle school races wasn’t too warm, but it did heat up over the day. This meet was a bit larger, particularly for the 7th and 8th grade races. In general, Liberty Bell did a great job of not going out too fast and was able to use the saved energy to move up through the field during the second half of the race.
The Liberty Bell 6th Grade Girls did not have a scoring team. Pioneer was the only scoring team and won. There were 15 athletes in the race.
Liberty Bell 6th Grade Boys won with a score of 18. Walter Strom was 2nd with a score of 45. There were 24 athletes and 3 scoring teams in the race.
The Liberty Bell 7th Grade Girls did not have a scoring team. Harrison was the only scoring team and won. There were 33 athletes in the race.
The Liberty Bell 7th Grade Boys did not have a scoring team. Pioneer won with 35 points. There were 51 athletes and 6 scoring teams in the race.
Liberty Bell 8th Grade Girls won with a score of 23. Housel was 2nd with a score of 43. There were 32 athletes and 3 scoring teams in the race.
Liberty Bell 8th Grade Boys were 2nd with a score of 56. Pioneer won with a score of 35. There were 56 athletes and 6 scoring teams in the race.

You look so smooth when you run. It is just a pleasure to watch. You kept almost a
perfectly even pace over each part of the course. That is hard to do and was quite
impressive. And of course, you came in the top 3!

Woah, what a gutsy race. It was impressive to see your confidence to take the race out so hard. I know it might not have been the end result you wanted but use it as a learning experience. I have no doubt with more races you will get your pacing strategy locked in. And, congrats on winning your race!
